Kinder Leeds
The Leeds Festival of Kindness, Compassion and Wellbeing (aka Kinder Leeds) is taking place from the 10th to the 16th of October. There is a diverse range of exciting events (both online and in person) and we’d like to highlight two in particular:
1. The Festival Launch on Sunday the 10th of October at 7pm (online).
Thupten Jinpa, President of Compassion Institute and the translator for the Dalai Lama will speak on Transforming Society Through Compassion, introduced by Dr. Shaid Mahmood, Chief Officer for Transformation and Change for Leeds City Council. Dr Jinpa is an internationally known speaker on this subject and we’re delighted that he has agreed to take part and support our kindness movement in Leeds. This talk is important as it will set the scene for the Festival week.
If you’d like to be part of the Zoom audience so that you can ask questions and interact with the speakers then please email us at info@kinderleeds.org to request the link as soon as possible as there are limited spaces. Alternatively if you want to simply listen then please register here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/kinder-leeds-festival-launch-tickets-171809836847
2. Our conference called Kindx (the Kindness Exchange) on Tuesday the 12th of October from 10am – 5:30pm.
Think of it as like a TEDx conference but with big and inspirational ideas to do with kindness, compassion and wellbeing. The talks range from being about Kinder Education to Self-Compassion to Forgiveness to affordable housing. It will be an exciting opportunity to meet and connect with people who are working to help make Leeds a kinder and more compassionate city.
