Leeds Healthy Start Scheme

Added: 14/03/2022

Voluntary Action Leeds

40% of qualifying families in Leeds are not registered with the NHS Healthy Start scheme, meaning they’re missing out on the financial help to access healthy foods that they’re entitled to.

The application for Healthy Start has moved away from a paper form to an online process which will make it difficult for those without the equipment, skills, and confidence to apply for this much needed support. Beneficiaries will now receive a pre-paid card rather than paper vouchers. We need to make sure that everyone who works with families who might be eligible for the scheme knows about these changes and how they can support people to continue accessing the scheme.
