Leeds Trustee Network Meeting (Financial Issues for Trustees): 10.10.24 online at 6-8pm
Added: 18/09/2024
Voluntary Action Leeds
If you are a trustee or management committee member, responsible for a small charity, voluntary, community or faith organisation based in Leeds, then come and join us.
Amanda Peters from West Yorkshire Community Accountancy Service (WYCAS) will be leading this session which will be looking at the roles and responsibilities of trustees around finance issues. You will get the opportunity in a safe confidential environment to chat with other trustees, sharing your concerns and good practice and asking all those questions that you aren’t sure about the answers to.
Learning Outcomes
The main issues we will cover will include:
- Common issues for trustees concerning your organisations finances
- How can you have an overview of your organisations finances, even if you aren’t the treasurer or finance person
- Recognising where things might be going wrong and what to do next
- Where can you get advice and support when finance issues arise
Suitable For
The meeting will particularly be open to emerging new organisations, small organisations and/or culturally diverse organisations as well as trustees/management committee members new to the role.
To get more out of the session it will help if you send your latest set of accounts (or a link to them), to Amanda, who will just review them to pick out any common issues – but don’t worry she won’t specifically refer to your accounts during the session. We will ask you for these once you have booked on the session.
This meeting will be held on Zoom and we will expect you to join in the session so will ask you to keep your camera on if possible.
