Meet the Funder: Mayor’s Safer Communities Fund: giving grants to keep communities safe
Voluntary Action Leeds
Mayor’s Safer Communities Fund, provides grants of up to £6,000 to voluntary, community groups, charities and partners to provide support for innovative community safety projects which address at least one of the cross-cutting themes within the draft Police and Crime Plan 2021-24.
Those themes are:
- Keeping women and girls safe;
- Diversity, equality, and inclusion;
- Early intervention and prevention.

Meet Paige Cowling and Sharon Waugh, from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority Engagement Team, supporting organisations in Leeds and Bradford to apply for the Mayor’s Safer Communities Fund. Paige and Sharon will outline the criteria and application process, giving tips on making a good application.

Deadline for submitting applications to the fund: 17/12/21.
Funds will be awarded by March 2022.
