The Healthy Start scheme helps those who are pregnant or have responsibility for a child under the age of 4, who are on a qualifying benefit and a low income, to buy healthy foods, milk and vitamins.

The Healthy Start scheme is changing, with a new online application process and prepaid card, to replace the paper vouchers.

If you have received a letter inviting you to apply online, either scan the QR code in the letter, or visit www.healthystart.nhs.uk for more details on how to apply. It is really important you do this step to continue receiving this benefit after March 2022.

If you  think you may be eligible for the scheme, but haven’t already signed up, you can still complete a paper  application form and sign up this way. If you haven’t signed up for the scheme, you can still use the paper application form until March 2022. Paper application forms can be found at a variety of locations, such as Children’s Centres, GP Practices or Council Community Hubs.
