Old Chapel Music CIC Needs Your Help!

Old Chapel Music CIC
Old Chapel Music CIC is proud to have served as a strong constituent part of Leeds’ music community for over a generation. It has been a hub for fresh talent and a home for familiar faces – and now, it needs your help.
Old Chapel’s Holbeck home – the 1800s Wesleyan chapel that gave us our name – is becoming more expensive to inhabit. The building’s rent has increased by its highest ever margin, and unforeseen events have caused that rent increase to be applied retrospectively.
To end this, we have launched our first-ever Crowdfunder campaign. With this campaign, we hope to raise £9,000 to cover rising rent costs and keep our light shining brightly for all the professionals, up-and-comers, disadvantaged musicians and vibrant communities that call us home. We’d love for you to visit our Crowdfunder page, read more of our story and – if you can – chip in to help our cause.
We have been at The Old Chapel on Czar St for over 30 years, cultivating and facilitating such transformational talent as the Kaiser Chiefs, Embrace, Cud, Sisters of Mercy, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Pigeon Detectives and so much more – to say nothing of the local and emerging acts that rely on the studios as a community hub and development space. We have every intention of being here for 30 years more, fostering interest in the arts and cultivating the next generation of musical talent.
Over the coming weeks, we will be illustrating just what Old Chapel means to the many people that pass through its doors, with a series of spotlight posts on some special individuals close to our heart. We’ll also be keeping you updated on our progress, and putting some finishing touches to our glorious new website in the process.
Thank you for joining us on this journey, and we look forward to crossing the finishing line with you – whatever that looks like!
Yours in Music,
Old Chapel Music CIC
