Safeguarding Week begins on 19 June this year.

In the same week, VAL is hosting a Civic Reception in partnership with Leeds City Council to celebrate small groups and charities across Leeds as part of Small Charity Week. The event will take place on 22 June and will be an opportunity for the work these groups do across the city to be recognised.

To support these two awareness campaigns, we will be producing a series of tweets around Safeguarding for small groups including information about what a Safeguarding Policy should include, together with useful links to information you might find useful.

On 19 June Leeds Safeguarding Children’s Partnership is delivering a session on the Organisational Safeguarding Assessment and bookings are now open. If you’re not sure how to undertake a safeguarding audit for your organisation, this is the session for you.

Farzana Jabar has also joined the team and is focusing on Safeguarding in Faith Communities, she will be making links with organisations over the coming weeks.
