Smart Works Leeds is a charity based in LS9 which supports women to enter the world of work. Smart Works provides high quality interview clothing and coaching to clients, to help them access their skillset, confidence and power.

Client pictured- Belinda, 25 from Keighley- attended Smart Works to prepare for an interview with The National Trust, in one of their tea rooms. She picked out an amazing outfit with the help of her volunteer dressers and had a productive session with one of our coaches to practice answering questions and get over her nerves.

Belinda was successful and returned to the centre to pick out a capsule wardrobe of 5 additional items, free and hers to keep, to help her make a great first impression at work.

Of the Smart Works experience, Belinda said: ‘The confidence Smart Works gave me ensured I presented myself in the right way to secure the job! I had an amazing experience.’

Any unemployed woman can access a coaching session with Smart Works, and any unemployed woman with a confirmed job interview can access a dressing appointment. Appointments are by referral only. If you are an individual and you would like to access some support through Smart Works, please speak to your jobcentre advisor or anyone else who may be supporting you- we receive referrals from mental health charities, women’s refuges, homeless shelters, the prison service, care service and youth organisations.
