We are really delighted to hear of another supermarket adding value to the Healthy Start Vouchers.
Co-op have just announced adding an extra £1 when families use a Healthy Start voucher in store. Further details below.
Co Op
Central England Co-op have announced that it will give all those who use Healthy Start vouchers an extra £1 to spend on vital food and essentials. The retailer has committed to providing all those who present the vouchers in its stores an extra £1. This will mean that those that use the vouchers will see their allowance rise from £3.10 to £4.10. Co op have also committed to continue the scheme after the value of vouchers increased in April to £4.25, meaning families will have £5.25 to spend. To claim the extra £1, all people have to do is present their vouchers at the till point and the colleague will automatically add on the extra £1 on top of the vouchers supplied
Tesco had previously announced the following initiative, which is now live. Tesco are giving any family who use the weekly Healthy Start vouchers a £1 coupon to spend on fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables. Every time a customer hands over their vouchers at the checkout, they will automatically receive the money-off coupon to redeem off their next shop. Tesco haven’t released details of if or when this scheme will end.
Iceland
In September Iceland began a scheme offering free frozen vegetables to families using Healthy Start Vouchers in its stores until the end of the year. Customers can just pick up the £1 frozen vegetables and pay with their Healthy Start Vouchers. The price will be automatically deducted from the total.
