The Hunslet Club: Free training courses
Added: 07/09/2023
The Hunslet Club
The Hunslet Club, in South Leeds, is offering free training courses to young people within South Leeds, who want to kickstart their careers, or simply want to experience a new way to learn and develop their skills.
Each year, The Hunslet Club runs their Monday Evening project, from September until April the following year. This year, they have expanded their curriculum to include Joinery, Mechanics, Catering, Sports, and art.
Young people have the opportunity to select one, and upon completion, they will achieve a level 1 qualification in their chosen area despite their educational or financial background. These courses provide young people with a new, more practical way to learn, where they will be guided every step of the way.
To gain more insight into these courses, The Hunslet Club is hosting an open night, which is due to take place on Tuesday, 12th September 2023, from 4:30 PM until 5:30 PM. Young people in year 9, 10 or 11 are welcome to join, and parents/guardians can come down as well to ask any questions.
I would like to invite parents/guardians and young people in years 9, 10 or 11 down to The Hunslet Club for an open evening on Tuesday 12th September at 4:30 PM. We hope our meeting will answer any questions you may have about the courses on offer and will give you an overview of how we work, you will take a look around the subject areas and also meet and chat with our tutors who will be delivering the classes” (These open days have come to an end, however, a member of staff will show you around and answer any queries)
– Donna Hall (Project Manager)
These courses have a proven success rate, with many students asking to come back to study a different course at The Hunslet Club.
I really did enjoy the Catering classes at the Hunslet Club, I liked learning different cooking methods, and skills and trying new foods that I wouldn’t have tried at home.
– Catering Student (2022-2023)
Venture down to The Hunslet Club on Tuesday, 12th September 2023 to learn more about our Monday Evening Project.
