The Road to Incorporation – Future Proofing Your Structure and Protecting Your People (Free Workshop for charities in Leeds registered with the Charity Commission)

Is your registered charity a trust or an unincorporated association?  Does your charity own land or property, or employ staff or contractors? This session is aimed at trustees and/or senior staff in unincorporated charities, who are seeking to better understand the long term options for the legal structure of their charity and how to get there.

Hayley Marsden from Wrigley’s Solicitors will be delivering the session.

The session will cover:

  • Risks of unincorporated status
  • Working out what you’ve got
  • Before you start CIO or charitable company
  • Time to make any new changes?
  • Writing your new governing document
  • Registering with the Charity Commission
  • Transferring between entities
  • Getting started in your new CIO or charitable company

The session is suitable and open to any unincorporated charity registered with the charity commission, based in and operating in Leeds.
