A new breed of pony club is making it possible for children worldwide to develop their horsemanship online.
The Think Like a Pony Club is breaking the mold, offering its members a world-first online experience to enhance their relationship with their horse or pony.
The Club is dedicated to teaching children how to communicate with horses respectfully and how to ride in balance with them harmoniously, creating a win-win for animal and rider. Ideal for children aged nine to 14, the Club is made up of e-books, worksheets and video lessons, supported by online horsemanship instructors.
The unique concept of the Think Like a Pony Club is the brainchild of founder Lynn Henry. She said:
“Making natural horsemanship as accessible as possible has always been my dream. Now, through the Think Like a Pony Club, that dream is becoming a reality.”
The Think Like a Pony ethos is focused on helping children to develop riding skills through an empathetic, respectful relationship with a pony. The results from this approach have seen Think Like a Pony win numerous awards in the UK, with glowing testimonials from children and parents.

Lynn is excited for this ethos to reach more young people who could benefit from it. She said:
“Through the online Club, our ethos is more accessible than ever. It’s open to anyone, anywhere. Whether they ride or own a pony, attend a riding school, or even if they’re just starting their horsemanship journey, we just want to make the holistic benefits of horsemanship available to all.”
The Club educates its members how to:
- communicate with a pony
- understand ponies from a scientific perspective
- care for a pony holistically, from the ground to the saddle
- understand how their relationship with a pony teaches them about relationships with others
Children earn badges by completing tasks marked by expert Think Like a Pony instructors.
The Think Like a Pony Club has been open for private membership for over a year and has been rolled out to riding schools and equine therapy centres in the UK, France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
