Third Sector Conference – Safety of Women and Girls Strategy Launch

The Mayor for West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin and Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, Alison Lowe OBE, would like to invite you to attend their second annual Third Sector Conference which will celebrate the work of the sector and how it has worked in partnership over the last 12 months. The topic for this year’s conference is the Safety of Women and Girls and the impact of the cost of living crisis on those we support which is recognised as a key challenge in our efforts to keep West Yorkshire Safe. Just. Inclusive.
The vision for our work is to come together with partners including the police, local authorities, health, education, VCSE partners and our communities. The event will give delegates the opportunity to discuss the latest issues, developments and actions in light of the challenges.
Attendees will hear from a number of colleagues, including the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, West Yorkshire Police, VCSE Partners and those with lived experience.
The conference will take place in person at Brighouse Sports Club, Russell Way, Brighouse, HD6 4LX on Wednesday 23 November, 09:30 – 15:00.
Launch of the strategy
The Mayor will be launching her safety of women and girls’ strategy at this conference.
Our aim is to deliver a strategy that can drive forward the Mayor’s Pledge to put women and girls at the heart of policing in West Yorkshire and bring about long-term societal change to end violence against women and girls.
The strategy was co-designed with partners and stakeholders across West Yorkshire. We listened, consulted, and identified good practice, and gaps across the region.
Showcasing Third Sector Support for Women and Girls
There will be an opportunity to showcase your work/ support for women and girls and we are looking to create positive networking opportunities throughout the event.
