Voluntary Action Leeds

The Youth Endowment Fund is a charity aiming to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence through funding projects and then sharing good practice and learning.

YEF plans to spend £4 million up until 2025. It will provide place based and themed funding pots and funding for targeted activities which fall between the two.

YEF has announced a new funding round: Trauma Informed Practice, to support delivery and learning about how the TIP approach can prevent young people from becoming involved in violence.

The funding round will focus on programmes that involve activities that deliver in the following areas:

  • organisational learning: staff training and development;
  • organisational policies: changes to policies and ways of working;
  • organisational processes: implementing trauma-focused referrals and planning.

Applications can come from: Education settings, local authorities, or other relevant statutory bodies, charities, public services or private sector organisations. Bids can come from a single organisation or a lead organisation on behalf of a consortium bid. It is anticipated that 3 applications will be funded.

Application deadline: 31 October 2022.

Delivery and project evaluations: August 2023 to March 2025.

There is an initial eligibility checker and full detailed guidance on the fund’s criteria and how to apply and you can contact the fund with any questions.

You only need an indicative cost and project outline as your project will be co-produced along with your given evaluator so initial plans, timings and budget may change.
