Voluntary Action Leeds
The Trustee Board at Voluntary Action Leeds are excited to announce that recruitment is now underway to find our next Chief Officer. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is able to instigate and deliver meaningful change and can work across organisational and sector boundaries. For more information about this unique role and opportunity, please see the full job advert here.
In making this announcement, the Board would like to extend their thanks to outgoing Chief Officer, Hannah Bailey, who leaves VAL in mid-July after nearly nine years with the organisation, and over three years as Chief Officer. Under Hannah’s leadership VAL has continued to evolve as an organisation to meet the challenges and opportunities presented to the VCSE sector as a critical partner within the city. This includes launching VAL’s refreshed strategy, supporting the VCSE sector to move from the pandemic and navigate the cost-of-living crisis, through to the development of the citywide Third Sector and Volunteering strategies and supporting the Leeds Community Anchor Network to grow and thrive as a key part of the city’s VCSE infrastructure.
Over the last few years as a Board we have embarked on a deliberate strategy of strengthening local and regional relationships with key partner organisations offering infrastructure support. This move is in recognition of the challenging operating environment but also speaks to our commitment to collaboration not competition. Taking this work to the next level will be a key priority for the new Chief Officer, and we thank Hannah for the commitment and energy she has shown to developing these relationships.
