Voluntary Action Leeds
West Yorkshire Safer Communities Fund opens round 20 of it’s grant programme to support local communities to be safer and feel safer.
Grants are available to voluntary, community groups, charities, not-for-profit organisations and partners who make their communities safer and feel safer. Grants are awarded in line with the Police & Crime plan priorities 2016-2021. Funding is from monies recovered by WY Police under Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA). Please discuss your project idea with your Neighbourhood Policing Team as they will be asked to comment on your project.
Round 20 is open with the theme of ‘’Supporting communities’’, essentially support for those most at risk or vulnerable across all priorities such as young people, the elderly, women and girls, disabilities etc. The fund wants to help those most in need and are looking for projects who work with individuals and groups of people which fall into that category, especially projects across all priority areas which support children, young people, older people including victims and those harmed by crime. Although it will also fund any project which meet the Police Crime Plan priorities. As in previous rounds the fund welcomes early intervention and prevention projects alongside those which offer therapy or support. Projects must be able to work within the Covid lockdown or covid restriction periods.
Deadline for applications is midday on 12th February and grants will be distributed in March.
